This is a joint blog shared by 2 lazy pple - Ciping & Wilbur, who wishes to use each other to maintain the blog. Sadly, Ciping is the more inactive one and Wilbur does most of the work in the end. Feel free to post comments on the tag-board, it feels good to know pple are actually reading and responding to your posts. It gives motivation to write more.
Ok, I think i'll stop being poetic.
Basically, by saying that i'm trapped in my own world, i mean victoria school. Don't get me wrong, this is not another post to criticize the school.
I find that over the past 4 years, I have looked at things too narrowly. I thought the results I had were good, I thought that being in the top 10 of the school was something fantastic, I also thought that if I can get something like 8 points for my o'level, it would be a very good achievement already.
Sure, these are very good achievements, I still think it is. BUT, I realised that I'm not the only one who is getting good results. Not only are the 4D students getting such good results, people from other schools are also getting good results.
And by saying this, I have my primary school friends to refer to. Incidentally, it was them who actually inspired me to study in pri. 5, where I suddenly shot up in rankings. Now, looking at their prelim results, I find that I am not exactly having wonderful results.

His aggregate was just 1 point above me, now, he's a humanes & lang pro (opp. from me) and has an L1R5 of 6 from prelims.
Higher chinese - 80
English - 75
Geog(E) - 85 (wth? Yes, pple actually can get above 80 4 geog)
Chinese - A1 (duh, look at hcl)
E.maths - A1
A.math - B3
Chem - B3
Physics - C6 ( yeah his sci sucks. haha)
Final A1 - I think its a 3rd lang

Their aggregate was 1 lower then mine, have 6 pts and 8 pts respectively.
E.g. 1 has showed me it isn't impossible to score for humanes, contrary to my previous belief. These 3 have showed me that, if i don't get around 8 points for my o's, i'd have failed. These 3 people are from ahs. For those who think ahs are worse than us, think again.
It is possible to say that their humanes papers are easier (coz all of them aced their humanes), or their teachers are more lenient. But I shaln't give any excuses, I still have a lot of room to improve for my humanities, and it IS possible, and so I should start studying hard now. Ok, make that next week, after I get back my results. Hopefully I did better for humanes.
Even within our own school. I failed to realise the intense competition. Our class physics msg - 5.6, 4D's physics msg - 1.6, with around 24 A1s. And I think for our class, we only have 1 or 2 A1s. So even if I do get an A1, so what? I'm probably still far off from their top score - 84.
To all 4H students, if you think the guys in 4D are FREAKS and they are super smart, which is why they are able to get those results, think again. They aren't. We all came in to VS within the same aggregate range, even IF they are smarter, its not by much. The top student in express only had an aggregate of 242. Yes 242. I'm sure many of you thrashed him.
Of course, they are probably more talented in the sciences. But you all are more talented in humanes, isn't it? It is possible to ace humanes, as shown above, furthermore we have 2 humanities. Take eng, chinese, 2 humanes, and just work hard for 1 math & 1 science. Its as ez as that.
Nil Sine Labore. Ironically, as Denys mentioned, VS has made me a slacker, contented with what I have now. Notice how badly VS boys do in mid-yrs, and then they improve remarkably (supposedly) in their o'lvls. Well, I think they only realise the meaning of nil sine labore right at the end of their sec 4 lives. But be careful though, it might just be too late.
Mr. Loh has said there are miracles. I hope 4H can become a miracle class then. Even if you get 20+ points for your prelims, refocus, and study again. Don't be just contented to get into jc, lets all aim for VJ. After slacking for 3 and a half yrs, shouldn't we work extra hard for this last 1 month thats going to be all that matters? Don't be discouraged. You don't have time to.
Lets all strive to rock Victoria School with our O'lvl results come next March. Talk is empty, action isn't.
