Hey pple...

This is a joint blog shared by 2 lazy pple - Ciping & Wilbur, who wishes to use each other to maintain the blog. Sadly, Ciping is the more inactive one and Wilbur does most of the work in the end. Feel free to post comments on the tag-board, it feels good to know pple are actually reading and responding to your posts. It gives motivation to write more.

< back >

I'm back from Malaysia.!.

I have never shopped so much in my life before. 5 days spent shopping. I think I'm going to be allergic to shopping for a looong time.

The bus ride lasted about 8 hours each. And during the bus trip, i realised how much larger M'sia was compared to Singpapore. Yet, they still managed to build roads throughout the hundreds of kilometres I travelled.

I guess developing Singapore, when compared to that, is chicken feet.

When I got to KL, I began to witness the disasters of development. I guess my geography knowledge comes to use here.

In a country's haste to develop, many problems occur.

Problem no. 1:
POLLUTION
THe air there... is sooo bad, you don't need to be a smoker to cough out smoke. All you need to do is to walk in the open streets of KL for 1 day. That's all you need for black lungs. In one instance, I had to walk about 2 streets down to my hotel from a certain TImes Square. When I got back, I was almost suffocating.

Problem no. 2:
CONGESTION
The traffic there is 2 times worse than ORchard road at peak hour. Add the fact that most of the vehicles are very noisy and emit a lot of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides, you have your recipe
for photochemical smog with an extra topping of ozone, not to menion that it takes half an hour for a taxi to travel somewhere else a few streets across.

Now I actually appreciate the many trees that Singapore has.
