This is a joint blog shared by 2 lazy pple - Ciping & Wilbur, who wishes to use each other to maintain the blog. Sadly, Ciping is the more inactive one and Wilbur does most of the work in the end. Feel free to post comments on the tag-board, it feels good to know pple are actually reading and responding to your posts. It gives motivation to write more.
And that's the first piece of news: I'm most probably joining kayaking. Training = 4 days a week. 2 land, 2 water. And land training is super tough. But that's ok. Perhaps after a year of intensive training, I might just be able to match Marcus' or Andrew's strength. That gives me the motivation to carry on.

Lets talk a little about teachers. If there are good teachers in VJ, I must be realli unlucky to get some of the lousy ones.
GP:
According to my sister, this teacher looks down on science students because she thinks they 'mug for GP'. In addition, she is extremely irritable and doesn't prepare for lessons. Coming into class, she just read out the guidelines in a guidebook given to us and elaborates on each point.
For E.g.

Style
This is a very individual aspect of essay writing. THe best way to develop a style is through sustained and wide reading. Whilst it is possible to have a 'bank' of words ready for use, this approach can often appear somewhat artificial and divorced from the context.

So this passage advises you not to have a 'bank of words' ready for use, if I read it correctly. But she probably saw the 'it is possible' and proceeded to tell us that we SHOULD have a bank of words ready for use.
That forms 2 possiblities.
Either she did not prepare for lessons, or she looks down on us so much that she thinks that even though having a bank of words is not advisable, we are so pathetic until we have to have that.
Next up: Chem teachers
We have 2, 1 for prac and 1 for tutorial. BOth.. are year 3s (ie. graduated last yr) (A level results still not back yet). 1 just reads off the instructions with some elaboration,(luckily she teaches us for prac), and the other is ok, just that she is not as particular with sig fig and units like wong liang seng. But still, how much experience can year 3s have?
Moving on to the chem lecture. It is amazing how lessons for chem can take a 180 degrees turn with different teachers. How 1 subject could seem interesting with 1 teacher (wls), and yet turn out to be downright tedious and boring with another (the chem lecturer).
That's all for complaints today. The rest of the teachers aren't that bad YET. But not outstanding either. But its kind of pressurizing in VJ cause almost every1 seems to understand everything so fast. If they teach a new concept in a subject( chem, physics or math) during lecture, they just demonstrate it 1 or 2 times, then ask us to try on our own, call a guy. And.. that person will get the correct answer. *GEP quality*
But of course. There are also those who can't keep up. That is why we are told to go home and revise lecture notes. And that is where the muggers come in.
