This is a joint blog shared by 2 lazy pple - Ciping & Wilbur, who wishes to use each other to maintain the blog. Sadly, Ciping is the more inactive one and Wilbur does most of the work in the end. Feel free to post comments on the tag-board, it feels good to know pple are actually reading and responding to your posts. It gives motivation to write more.
Here are the things which I consider distractions for studying:
Playing with PS2
Watching TV
Going online
My rationale: Stay away from these distractions and I'll be able to focus on studying.
I managed to 'stay away from these distractions' more effectively the nearer exams drew. But soon I found myself entertaining myself in other ways.
1) Newspapers.
This is the first time I find them interesting in 10 eons. Basically, I would never really read them in my spare time. But when the only variety of entertainment you have comes in the form of subjects, and when the only 2 things you can do is read or write, the newspapers somehow feel especially appealing. And I don't feel guilty because I'm 'studying for GP'. Heh.
2) Blogging.
Yes, my blog posts increase when exams come. I have not blogged the past week because I actually had no time to. But now that the exams have commenced, I take this as a break I have to take after a gruelling paper, before I start my last minute revising again. And I'll be 'practising my writing skills', so I won't feel so guilty.
3) Bathing.
When you are up to your neck with formulas and equations, and you feel your brain has been stretched to the point threatening explosion. Taking a nice, hot shower can feel like a spa (no, not the one you take in the lab).
I'm facing one of the biggest crisis, or challenges (to be optimistic), in my examination life. This is because the 'A' level syllabus is not easy. Add to that, the VJ standard expects you to be proficient at the subject. SO that's just bad news all over again.
But there's a few things I like about this exams though:
1) It only lasts for 5 days. Although the papers are longer, the misery is shorter. 5 days to liberation. This is totally better than secondary school, where you have 2 weeks of exams. Or O levels, the countdown started from like, 21 days?
2) It has subjects which I like more and are more confident of - Maths, Physics and Chemistry. The only new subject is econs. But because its new, its not so complicated yet and I'm actually enjoying it - since its a social science (I like some aspects of the arts but am more proficient in science, best of both worlds). My 2 worst subjects would probably be the 2 AO level subjects - GP and chinese.
